Meghan Markle [1] is looking chic as usual ahead of the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted at a welcome reception [2] for the week-long event, marking their first joint visit to Europe since stepping away from their working royal duties [3].
For the occasion, Markle opted for a sleek, all-white power suit from Valentino, consisting of a slightly oversize double-breasted blazer and high-waisted trousers. Historically, white pantsuits have symbolized a nod to suffragettes and signaled hope for the future. She accessorized with a matching gold-chain handbag from the designer, as well as pointed white heels from Aquazzura. For jewelry, she kept things simple with a gold necklace, bracelet, and her signature Cartier Tank Française watch [4], which was also loved by Princess Diana. Alongside the Duchess, Prince Harry wore a casual dark suit without a tie.
Markle has long been a fan of monochromatic dressing, often seen wearing the same color from head to toe. Most recently, she donned a royal-blue gown at the NAACP Image Awards [5] in February, and for the Salute to Freedom Gala last November, she wore all red [6]. The Invictus Games, an annual sporting event that honors wounded service members and veterans, is where the pair first met in May 2016 [10].
