The Kicks: Staud x New Balance 997 Sneakers ($230)

Release Date: May 14, 2020

Why We Love Them: New Balance is teaming up with a fashion favorite for its latest designer collaboration: Staud. After its successful collab with New York designer Aimé Leon Dore, New Balance is back for another round. Designer Sarah Staudinger, who is a 2019 CFDA Fashion Award nominee, has teamed up with the sportswear brand for an activewear line and a pair of sneakers than stole our attention. Along with track pants, leggings, and sports bra, Staud also created a new version of New Balance's classic 997 sneaker, and it's perfect for the summer.

Staud gave the retro sneakers a colorful makeover that stays true to the brand's DNA. The colorful sneakers come in a variety of vibrant hues like orange, yellow, green, and blue. Sarah told Vogue that her muses for the project included Princess Diana in her gym clothes and Susan Sarandon wearing New Balance sneakers in Cannes back in 1978. Keep reading to get a closer look at the gorgeous campaign imagery of the sneakers ahead. If you're hoping to snag a pair before they sell out, mark your calendars for May 14th. The $230 sneakers will be available for pre-order on both Staud's and New Balance's website and will ship in August.
