Josef Albers's Homage to the Square ($149) series is arguably my favorite collection of artwork after 1950. There is something about the clean lines of his compositions and his understanding of color that I find so captivating. I especially like this iteration, with its cool, gray, outer square, which contrasts so highly with the warm orange and yellow of the inner squares. I may not be able to afford an original Albers, but this print is definitely on my holiday list this year.
