Zooey Deschanel is a fiancée. On Aug. 14, Deschanel and Jonathan Scott announced their engagement [2] on Instagram with a sweet selfie, offering a close-up look at the actor's one-of-a-kind engagement ring. "Forever starts now!!!" the couple captioned their joint post. According to People [3], the "Property Brothers" star proposed to the bride-to-be during a family trip to Scotland with a unique band featuring a colorful floral design.
Deschanel's sparkler appears to be a floral motif ring, according to Olivia Landau [4], founder and CEO of The Clear Cut. It spotlights several different gemstones, including a purple sapphire at the center, white diamonds, and a pink sapphire. "In its entirety, the ring could range anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000," Landau shares with POPSUGAR. Deschanel's adorable, Barbie-pink manicure [5] complemented the gorgeous piece of jewelry.
Classic rings are always in style, but unique engagement rings [6], particularly with multiple stones, have become more prominent in recent years. While Deschanel has not yet shared the significance of her jewelry, rings with three stones typically represent a couple's past, present, and future. Toi-et-moi or "you and me" designs, which pair two complementary gemstones, have also been a popular choice among celebrities like Emily Osment [7] and Megan Fox [8].
Deschanel and Scott have been together since 2019 after meeting on the set of "Carpool Karaoke" with James Corden. Earlier this year in August, they celebrated their four-year anniversary before getting engaged. Deschanel's children [9] from her previous marriage, 8-year-old Elsie and 6-year-old Charlie, reportedly also played a role in Scott's proposal.
