5 Things Every Healthy Eater Should Do


So you call yourself a healthy eater, eh? If so, you may want to be sure to do these five things to ensure your healthy eating status:

  1. Eat breakfast, always.
  2. Drink plenty of fluids/water.
  3. Get your five a day.
  4. Limit salt. Better yet, avoid it.
  5. Avoid late night snacking

i think portioning your food is really important. eating everything in moderation.

mwmsjuly19, try carrying a bottle of water with you at all times. It's easy to fill up and if it's there, you will drink it. I never drank enough water until I kept a 1.5L bottle at my desk. Now I am up to 3+ litres of water a day. It sucks to have to run to the toilets every 20 minutes or so, but it's more exercise than just sitting on your bum and your body will thank you for it. Another thing to add to the list is eat fish and eat unsalted nuts! Proteins and essential fatty-acids.

These are great, but hard for me to live by consistently. But, I try. I definitely don't get anough veggies and I love salty snacks. I also don't drink enough water.

Don't be afraid to try fresh, exotic foods! Like foreign fruits, or sashimi mmmmmmm.

I agree, avoid bad sugar and fat. Only eat fat from good sources (nuts, canola, olive oil). Eat every 2-3 hours. Eat protein.

In addition to above, I think avoiding high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated fats is really important for healthy eating too.
