Exercise may be the last thing you feel like doing when you're bloated, but certified personal trainer and kinesiologist Johanna Sophia (growwithjo on YouTube) created this five-minute, fast walking workout specifically to get you relief. I was skeptical that five minutes of moving would help, but I was bloated last night (thank you beans and broccoli!), tried this, and it helped. There are twists, knee lifts, and standing crunches to squeeze the belly, and to get air moving –– and out of your body. Actually, you may want to do this workout alone, if you know what I mean!
It's worth a try — I mean it's just five minutes, so what do you have to lose? And if you're still feeling bloated after this quick workout, you can follow the tips Sophia shares at the end such as drinking more water to get things moving, decreasing the sodium and processed foods, and including potassium in your diet, a mineral that helps regulate fluid balance. Walking after meals can also help, and if you can't get outside, do this 30-minute indoor walking workout.
