Back on Track: Plan Your Menu For a Week

All too often the weekend presents a string of unhealthy eating opportunities — like parties for the Oscars. Social gatherings and extra free time often translates to more meals out than usual and party food, both with tempting menu choices. Getting back on track after a weekend can be challenging, but my trick for taking control is simple. Put together a menu that outlines healthy meals for the entire week and head to the grocery store to purchase your ingredients. You should definitely do this before parking yourself in front of the TV to watch the Oscars. A stocked fridge will keep you from turning to takeout for dinner after a busy day at work. Oh, also you save money because you only buy what you need. Without a plan, I always end up buying stuff that goes bad before I get to use it.

This is definitely the best way for me to stay on track. If I can just make a plan and keep the fridge stocked with the stuff I need, then I stay on track.

I try and menu plan every week. I only cook for myself and its stops me from being lazy and ending up with an empty fridge, or throwing food away or eating the same foods every week. I plan around what is in season and on special and end up saving $$ too.

I usually eat similar things from week to week and I always just stock up on healthy stuff every week at the store. I guess I'm not that adventurous, but I like to have my fridge always stocked with healthy foods so I don't have an excuse to eat junk.

Not only do you get to plan your nutrition, but if you're frugal, you can plan around the sales at the grocery store and save yourself some mega bucks too. I always find that I cook more and healthier if I plan too.

I wish I could do this. I live with family right now, and so I'm at the mercy of...whatever everybody else wants to eat for a week. One budget, one meal made in bulk on Sunday to stretch through Saturday - at least. Ugh. I really wish I could do this!

i always do this because after the unhealthy things I eat and drink during weekends I feel the need to start the week with lots of healthy foods.
