Best Bodies at 2012 Oscars

Do Fit Celebs Inspire You to Work Out?

Hollywood's biggest names were in award-worthy shape as they paraded down the Oscars red carpet last night. Some of the best bodies in attendance? Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, and Cameron Diaz. The actresses shone in strapless gowns, highlighting toned arms and shapely shoulders. It was definitely a gentle reminder to myself that tank-top season is just around the corner, and that it's never too early to ramp up those upper-body workouts.

If you're inspired by these actresses, learn more about Cameron's workout regimen, Jessica's vegan diet, and Viola's toned physique.

I find it hard to take inspiration from someone whose circumstances are so different from mine. Celebrities have personal trainers and their bodies are their jobs. I could be a disembodied brain in a jar hooked up to a computer and still be able to do my job. While I'm in meetings, they're on the treadmill. They have people who can pick out their food for them; I do that on my own. Inspiration, to me, is the woman in my running group who works 2 jobs and is running a marathon for charity. I might enjoy the occasional "here are some of the moves celebrities do in the gym" workout when I'm looking to add a few new exercises to my routine, but I never compare myself to celebrities, nor do I find them particularly inspiring.
