The remains of a World War II railway tram now make up the 1,048 steps that lead to the top of Koko Crater (Koko Head Park Road). The payoff for making the thigh-burning trek? Stunning views of the coastline below — and, of course, just the accomplishment of getting to the top! Go early when the sun is still low in the sky, and expect to share the steep trail with locals getting in their morning workout. If you're in decent shape, ascending the 1,100 feet will only take about 30 minutes of your time — no excuses!
