Best Swimsuit Brands For Laps

Weigh In: Help Me Find a Training Swimsuit!

Swimmers, we need you! Can you help this reader find the right bathing suit for swimming laps?

After a few recent injuries, I am looking to get back into lap swimming. I am having a horrific time trying to find a functional suit. The former competitive swimmer in me naturally returned to familiar brands such as Tyr, Arena, and the like when seeking one-pieced attire. I quickly realized that I am no longer under 20 . . . OK, 30, and my ample boobs are not either. In fact, said breasticles have protested by attempting to get out of any training swimsuit opening that they could with quite admirable muster. Couple this with the fact that I am very long-waisted. Over and over again, my options seem to be limited to something that my grandmother might wear. Any brand suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just started swimming myself and wear size C/D and I got a great speedo from Costco, but I'm not long waisted... only wide waisted... LOL! But my suit keeps everything in its place.

I recently ordered some Land's End swimsuits (I'm a D-cup) and was very pleased with the support. They don't carry anything specifically intended for training, but they have several one-pieces with built-in underwires that do just fine for me when I swim laps. And you can sometimes specify a long-torso size depending on the suit.

I'm long waisted too so I have a hard time as well. I have (2) two piece ones and they cover all areas beside my stomach. I have Tyr and speedo. I used to wear them lifeguarding.

I'm curious to see what people come up with for this...I have been a competitive swimmer since I was 11, and now that I'm in my 20s, (and for a lot longer than that) I've had a hell of a time finding a suit to fit my DD boobs into. I don't know about Nike and the long torso thing, but I know that my boobs have literally popped out of the sides of their suits while I was swimming, so I don't recommend it if your biggest concern is your chest.

Dolphin swimsuits with Chloroban. I was going through a suit a month swimming laps until I found these. They are primarily polyester so they dont stretch or fade, but I would recommend going up a size from what you normally wear. They dont have the silky texture of regular suits but they will last forever.

Speedo does a range called the "Wellbeing Speedo Sculpture", I'm not certain how aerodynamic they are, but your 'breasticles' will find themselves covered and well supported (plus it has a low scooped back instead of crossed or racerback straps so getting in or out of the suit is a breeze)

I used to swim & play water polo in college & started to swim again too. Don't have the boob issue, but do deal with a longer torso. I recently got a Nike suit and really like it for lap swimming. Have you tried a zipper back suit with a regular full piece suit underneath? I used to wear this playing water polo...kinda like a runner's double sports bra trick. Zipper backs can sometimes be expensive though.
