There are so many things to love about the Olympic Games [4] β impressive acts of athleticism, examples of good sportsmanship, and so much more. But nothing gets to us quite like a heartwarming Olympic journey, especially when the dedicated families who've supported their athletes from the start are involved! So when ice hockey team the Milwaukee Admirals posted an emotional video [5] of undrafted player Bobby Butler sharing the news of his Olympic team placement with his dad, we were reduced to a puddle of tears.
Because hockey players with NHL contracts won't compete [7] in the 2018 Winter Olympics, it means that many athletes who never expected to compete in the Olympics will have their chance to shine on the world stage β perhaps even bringing home a medal. So it's no surprise that Butler's dad has such a sweet response to his son's great news. Now we just can't wait to see him on the sidelines in Pyeongchang, South Korea!
