I always have at least two family functions, so I try and eat just a bit at both. Christmas is even worse because there are usually about four different "dinners" to go to. Lots of gym time!

Does the 3,000 include the two slices of pie and sandwiches after dinner? That's my usual ritual.

I don't understand what a candied sweet potato is. Aren't they sweet enough as it is? I don't get it! lol

i tend to only eat stuffing and sweet potatoes. oh and pumpkin pie ;) i don't like much of anything else. i also make a steamed vegetable dish for my family so i eat a lot of that too.

Same here Tori! I was surprised that tofurkey has almost 100 calories more than dark meat!

Wow, I am SHOCKED that tofurkey has so many calories!!! You'd think it would be the best! I'm a vegetarian, but I get more than full on the side dishes alone, so no need for any kind of turkey replacement!

I guess I'm lucky because I typically don't like the food served at traditional Turkey day meals so I don't eat much. I don't like mashed potatoes, green bean casserole or buns. I pick at the turkey, eat salad and indulge in a piece of pumpkin pie!

I overestimated all the calories, so now I feel better. I tend to compensate for Thanksgiving by eating really healthy and exercising a lot the week prior to and the week after Thanksgiving. On the day of, I exercise a lot, and eat cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast and lunch. Then I make sure to stuff my plate with dressing-less salad and roasted veggies, and less than a quarter serving of the other sides. The only thing I kind of splurge on is dessert since pie is something I never eat for the rest of the year.

Interesting...I overestimated the calories in every question with a specific number of calories but I underestimated the calories in the typical Thanksgiving day meal. My math skills need some work!
