step 1. Get crappy, low-paying job step 2. Have some kids step 3. make sure your rent is higher than what you make in 2 weeks. Result: After bills, rent, gas, food for the babies (NOT YOU), you're lucky you can even get 1 piece of clothes after losing so much weight b/c you can't feed yourself. By the way, being poor sux!!

Is Weight Watchers accomodating to vegetarians? I've found that most organized diet programs will shun a vegetarian diet, claiming you can't get enough protein to lose weight--SOOO not true! I'm at a healthy weight--I lost 35 lbs. on a vegetarian diet--but my mom can't seem to shake the weight she gained when she was finishing her dissertation.

I do HATE the meetings- It's why I've never been able to do it. How do you make the online program work best for you?

The moms who care to lose their post-baby weight are always inspiring me, showing me that it IS possible indeed.

I've lost about 40 pounds combined at different times with WW. It is a great program and really easy to live with, but I tend to have some success then fall off the wagon. I rejoined today and I am also using Alli in conjunction with WW. Flame away, but so far, no problems and I feel good about my decisions to combine the two programs.

I went to the meetings in my junior and senior year of highschool. I lost a little over 30 pounds but once I graduated from hs I ended up partying a lot and drinking a lot... two years later I gained the 30 pounds I had lost back. I am still currently doing WW but minus the meetings. I cut down partying A LOT so now I only have drinks at bars once a week. Weight Watchers is successful tho! You can lose 3-5 pounds your first week and 2-3 pounds every week thereafter. Doing it with a friend helps too b/c you're secretly trying to lose an extra pound more so the competition helps you from going over your allowed points.

Lol, smartypants, I definitely get kindergarten flashbacks when I'm there at meetings! I contribute but I don't like to mention whether I lost or gained or had an epiphany. I just like to be modest. I'm afraid if I get a star I'll get cocky and slip up down the road!

And more importantly than the weight, I'm eating better. I actually want to cook healthy, fresh, nutrional meals. I feel a hundred times better and about a thousand times better about myself.

I'm doing it online. The leaders at the only meetings around here are just a little too kindergarten teacher-like ("Everyone clap for Mary -she lost ten pounds!" "Everyone who lost a pound gets a sticker!") but online works well too. I love the fact that it works for real life - you can go to dinner with friends, you can have a cocktail, you can travel. 20 pounds down, 10 to go!

I can just imagine Jenny McCarthy at Weight Watcher meetings. It must've been interesting for the other people. lol I love her because she seems so real to me.

I've usually been really good about working out, but with food I didn't have much control. Last summer I tried a fad diet that got my weight down to about 115 lbs from 126. It worked due to me eating mainly fruits, veggies, and starting a regular workout plan. But over the holidays last year, while I still ate fruits and veggies, I REALLY indulged in those seasonal foods, and my weight ballooned to 134 lbs. I decided to go on Weight Watchers last March because, like Jenny McCarthy, I listened to my momma, who also succeeded on it :-) I really love it because it's effective and safe. It gets you set mentally. Once your mind is in the plan, your body will follow. And the best part is while it teaches you great food habits, no food is out of bounds as long as the portions are adequate. I love too many foods to be a rabbit for the rest of my life! And now, I have only 6 more pounds to lose before I hit my goal. I don't want to make the same mistakes I made with my mad weight gain over the holidays, but I think with all that I have learned at WW, I won't let it happen and I plan to enter their Maintenence program. Throough it all, sometimes I gained along the way, but gains are part of the process. The tortoise won the race before the hare anyway! But their philosophies are definitely ones that I will adhere to for the long-term.
