Cook One Serving to Lose Weight

Weight-Loss Tip: Cook One Serving

When it comes to sustainable weight loss, mealtime choices can help or hinder goals. But it's more than just the foods you're choosing. When people eat healthy but aren't seeing the results they're striving for, portion size is often the culprit. If portion control has plagued your own weight-loss progress, then consider taking temptation out of the equation by cooking single-sized servings of your favorite foods.

It takes a little math, but simply divide your favorite recipes accordingly. For example, if a recipe serves four, then divide each ingredient measurement in the recipe by four. If you're concerned about doing the math to your favorite desserts, then try a single-serving pumpkin protein souffle or a dark chocolate fudge cake recipe to satisfy that sweet tooth. By cooking just one serving, you won't have to struggle with being tempted by the rest of that delicious cake that's lurking in your fridge.

This reminds me of the scene in Bridesmaids when she makes herself a single, ornate cupcake. Silly, yes, but I guess that would make you really savor it and just eat one!
