This cranberry smoothie recipe was shared by FitSugar reader JuicyNoelle in our Healthy Recipe community group.

The little cranberry, such an under appreciated fruit. For years cranberry juice has been thought to reduce or eliminate urinary tract infections, but more recent studies have also linked this tiny tart goodie with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits along with benefits in fighting heart disease and cancer. Reacquaint yourself with cranberries in this yummy holiday cranberry smoothie.

Serving Size: One 16 ounce serving (300 calories per serving)

Ingredients:

* 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
* 2 cups water
* 1 1/2 cups almond milk (I like the Blue Diamond brand, Original flavor)
* 1/4 cup cashews (give the raw ones a try)
* 1/8th Teaspoon Stevia
* 4 ice cubes

I think the smoothie would taste delicious without nuts also. Just add a little extra ice and Stevia. If you had the meat of a fresh young coconut that would be delicious as well. As far as Agave Nectar as a substitution, add a little at a time until you figure out the perfect sweetness for your tastebuds. It's always easy to add more, not so easy to take away!

This looks and sounds so creamy and delicious. I always use raw nuts and nut milks to make my smoothies creamy instead of using dairy. Oh and also avocados and coconuts add silky goodness http://fullbodytransformation.wordpress.com/
