Did You Work Out This Morning?

I usually work out in the morning before anyone else in my house wakes up. This way I can fit in my workout and get it done for the day. It's a great way to wake up. Daylight Saving messed up my routine for a while, but now I am back on track. I returned to my previous schedule and am surprised that it took almost two weeks to recover from the time change. I worked out this morning, did you?

I can count the number of times I've worked out in the morning on one hand. I am just not designed to get up before 8:00. But I will work out today from 6-7 p.m. ish, like I always do during the week.

working out in the am is something i like to do in theory, but due to my work schedule sleep habits etc it never happens, i much prefer to work out midday or in the evening...

For the past two years I wake up and run at least 2 miles-It's a great start to my day. Now, I have the FLU! And I have missed my morning run for the past two days and should probably take a break for the rest of the week. It may seem crazy but I feel a huge huge huge void in my life without my morning run...HELP!

I couldn't possibly work out in a morning. I would need to be at the gym for 5am and my sleep is more important. I always work out in the evenings. I read a clinical study that said it's worse for your body if you work out first thing (blood pressure etc.) so I'll stick to my evening workouts!

Yes, first time in 2 months! I can't wait to get up tomorrow morning and workout again!

Wild Magelet--I know it SOUNDS really weird that I get up at 3 to work out when I have to be at work so early, but to be honest, I go to bed at around 7:30pm the night before so I'm not really that sleep deprived. I also find that if I work out before getting to work, I'm actually LESS tired than if I just get up and go to work without exercising.

Yesterday I jogged for 25 minutes, walked for 15 minutes on the treadmill; today I went to the pool and swam for 30 minutes. I'm seriously impressed by the amount of exercise that some of you do! (And have absolutely no intention of following your example, heh). Although I have to admit that it kind of boggles my mind that people would get up at 3 in the morning to work out. I'd end up so tired and grumpy that I'd get sick.

This sounds so ideal, but its quite unrealistic for someone who already wakes at 530am. Also- then I have to consider shower time, hair time, gosh I'm late to work just thinkin about it. I tried to implement this workout-in-the-morning thing back in college, and learned I workout best and with good exertion in the evenings. I'm sticking to that.

Smacks83 - to clarify my two hours, 35 minutes of that includes walking to and from the gym, I take one day a week completely off, 5 days are done weight training with split routines and alternating an ab workout or 30 minutes of cardio intervals and usually one day is just cardio. Yes they are intense workouts and might be overkill for some people but I have worked myself up to that, change my routine every month and I just really enjoy exercising!

I always work out in the mornings...that way, I get it done and out of the way and nothing can get in the way of doing it later on. I, too, have to be at work early...6am, plus I have a 45 minute commute. So on the days I work the morning shift, I wake up at 3 to work out so I have enough time to get ready and drive in. Sure, it means I have to go to bed early, but I'm used to it.

its bad enough that i have to get up at 5am every day to get ready for my day, i can't wake up an hour earlier at 4am to get a workout in. on the weekends though, thats another story. i am always up and at my workout at 7'ish...

Which race, jessicaeden ? Shamrock or National or ?? I ran the National Marathon this weekend (PR'd with a 3:50:43!) and can still barely walk, so today is definitely a recovery day. May try for an easy swim tomorrow am.

It was hard for me to adjust to the time change as well. I hadn't worked out in 10 days. Just running around playing with the boys but nothing formal. Today I went an hour and I can already feel the difference. My stupid RLS gets all riled up when I don't work out. I HATE it. I like working out in the mornings, then if I feel frisky later on it's just extra!

I'm a late afternoon workout person to help my sleep. On Sundays, I do workout in the morning just because all day long, I'm doing homework and such.

TidalWave - My alarm goes off at 6. Eat breakfast, feed the cat, shower, get ready. I'm really slow in the mornings. Especially right now since I am on crutches. My normal wake up time is 6:30. But still. I just don't get the morning workout. :( I guess I'm destined to be a evening/night workout person.

I wish I could wake up early enough to work out before getting to work. evening workouts fit me better, but on the weekends I try to get to the gym as early as I can
