Diet Tip: Keep Phone Chats Out of the Kitchen

After hanging up from a marathon phone session with my sister a few days ago, I realized that I had somehow polished off two slices of leftover pizza, some bread and hummus and several handfuls of gummy bears — all right before dinner. Ever since then, I have decided that I should no longer talk on the phone in the kitchen.

Talking on the phone in the kitchen can lead to overeating because not only are we distracted but we're also surrounded by food, a lethal combination for someone who watches what she eats. So if you've found that you tend to eat mindlessly while talking on the phone, think about following my lead and moving your phone conversations to another room.

Like Kia and Ilanac, I can't eat on the phone either. I think it's rude, actually. If my boyfriend does it while he's talking to me, I ask him to stop, because someone crunching right in your ear sounds frigging disgusting.

I can't eat and talk on the phone either! It's too messy and I can't talk with my mouth full of food. I usually talk on my phone and walk around, or I'll drink water while I talk to keep my mouth moist (cuz when I talk, I TALK).

i'm guilty of this. yesterday my boyfriend called after his classes, and we didn't talk that long but i found myself almost finishing one half of a box of Thin Mints.. ugh.

That's the rudest thing I can think of! I definitely EAT LESS when talking on the phone because how can I hold a conversation with someone if I am chewing in their ear!

I never eat when I'm on the phone, either. I hate the sound of people chewing! I also hate when they amplify the sound of actors eating in movies. Gross!

I have a problem with over drinking on the phone....I will be enjoying a glass of wine, and get a call start talking and drink wine without even enjoying it...low and behold the call ends, i have drank a bottle of wine, about 600 calories more than I planned on drinking, and haven't really enjoyed it...but can enjoy a hangover the next morning. Water only when I talk!

I can't eat when I'm on the phone. I hate when people masticate and I hear it so I won't do it to others.
