Do You Ever Exercise More Than Once a Day?

I try to work out regularly, but with work, my family, and my generally busy schedule, I'm lucky to work out four times a week. Very rarely do I get the chance to work out more than once a day. Before my life became so crazy hectic, some days I would run in the morning and take a yoga class in the evening. Those days are gone for me, but what about you. . .

Back when I ran Cross country, I'd run before school and then the team practice was afterwards. If I just do a bunch of 'active' things all day at different times like swimming, biking, or tennis, I don't consider that exercise but I guess that'd be multiple exercising.

I cycle 15+ miles per day to and from work, work in an old people's home on my feet all day and then go to the gym. I think I get enough exercise? :)

I'm sure I'd feel pretty great about myself if I could do 100 hours of cardio without collapsing! But I settle for 30 minutes of cardio before work, and 30 minutes of strength training after work a couple of days a week. On the weekends I do it all at once.

I work out on cardio equipment (treadmill or/and elliptical) for roughly 96 to 110 minutes daily - and sometimes I will take a walk or two or go do some other heart pumping activity as the day progresses.... I always do my 100 minutes of cardio work in the morning before the day starts so I at least have that under my belt! It makes me feel GREAT!

I'm a once-a-day exerciser. I've been toying with the idea of two workouts. It seems to really be an effective way to get rid of some weight. I'm just now getting back to the exercising 5-6 times a week right now, so I'm going to stick with that right now. My workouts are generally about 1 hour in duration. All the nasty associated with sweating it up more than once AND all the washing of clothes are deterrents to the two-a-days.

Only once a day..but I wish I could work out more than once a day.. Maybe one day my schedule will permit it.

I try to fit in two workouts whenever I can. I love going for a morning run when the weather is a bit cool because it is the perfect way to start my morning! Then in the evenings I'm all about Group X classes at my gym. I take yoga, turbo kickbox, shadow box, and sometimes step.

back in college, if i had time, sometimes i would. it's great stress relief and i would take a pilates class and then run later. the whole schedule had to work round my classes and work... but i loved it when i could do it! :)

Uh, no. Once a day is enough, thank you. :) (And admittedly some days the gym or the treadmill or the yoga DVD aren't happening at all). I agree, you guys are very inspiring, but still. No. For one thing, I wouldn't want to shower and wash my hair twice in one day, which I'd have to, I don't have enough exercise clothes - and I'm FAR too lazy for that sort of dedication!

I usually just work out once a day because it's a pain to shower twice, but sometimes I'll work out before work and then do a "mini" workout when I get home to give me some more energy.

usually it's cardio during lunch time while i'm at work, and weights in the evening when i'm at home. (secret: lately i'm skipping the later.. shh.. don't tell anyone)

Lately I've been in "two-a-days" where I run with my dog in the morning and go to a spinning class or do some kind of cardio machine after work.

i think exercise is a very important thing, it is something that i will always make time for.

I usually go for a leisurely walk at noon and play tennis, go for a run or go rollerblading in the evening.

If time permitted, sure I would. I enjoy it. Sometimes I do so but its more unintentional...like.. a full day of shopping or rambling around town = walking and carrying bags (I do not own a car these days)..then going home and working out anyway.

After work. I just do the Elliptical for 30 minutes, then I do an hour Vinyasa Yoga session right after.

I usually work out in the morning. On occasion i'll take a long walk in the evening as well but never two full on work outs in the same day.

yikes! now i am feeling guilty about only working out once a day! i usually put in about 2 hours a day at the gym...maybe i should space it out into 2 sessions. you guys are so motivating :)

I don't currently do this, but when I was racing a lot, I was working out at least twice a day. (ah, the days of not having a full time job) I would run in the morning, swim in the afternoon and then either run again or bike in the evening. I would often lift weights before the second run/bike. I was running about 45 miles a week at that point. Going to school and having a full time job that isn't at a gym makes it really hard to work out all day. But I REALLY enjoyed that period of my life.

i really like the effect the two-a-day has on my metabolism, so when it's possible, i absolutely like to fit more than one in. it's one of the (many) reasons i like riding my bike to work. it's a built-in two-a-day.

I work out in the morning @ the gym w/ my friends and after work I walk my dogs. So most days I end up doing 6-7 miles total.
