You should update this because adults are suppose to get 1000 IU + daily NOT 400, that is WAY TOO little!!! Katie171 = you need to take more vitamin D missy! ha ha!

3/5 - umm.. how did I miss the first one considering it was actually IN the question??!! Actually I take about 800 IU most days coz many studies have shown recently that you need more than 400. My mil was diagnosed with a Vitamin D deficiency last year and it manifested in the worst cramps in her legs at night. She had to take vit D shots every week for months! Now she goes out into the sun a lot more often.

i hate the sun thing. 10-15 minutes is exactly what it says! that's not even enough to tan! so a lot of proponents will say "oh but if you tell people that then they will bake and get skin cancer". well 15 minutes is 15 minutes! you won't get skin cancer in 15 minutes. it's not the researcher's fault that people are idiots
