7 Habits I Had to Form to Finally Lose the Weight

Do You Sometimes Lie About the Clothing Size You Wear?

Personally, I don't think it's anyone's business what size clothes I wear, but if someone asked me, I wouldn't lie. I am what I am and I've come to terms with my body. I have a good friend though who's naturally petite (size 2), and one time I heard her tell someone she was a size 6. She said she doesn't want to hear negative comments like, "Geez, you need to eat something."

So what about you . . .

I'm seeing a lot of 2's and 4's. And that's great for all of you who are. But you are the girls who are almost always proud of your size. I'm a 12 usually but right now I've put on a lot of weight and am more like a 16. The only thing that makes me sad is when the clothes I own don't fit.

Depending on the garment/brand, I wear anything from a US 4 (usually dresses) to US 14 (pants)! So what am I to say?? But as a rule I don't talk about the numbers (weight or pant size) with anyone, as it would expose the massiveness of my thighs that I work so hard to conceal with a-line skirts!

no need to lie in my case :)

I'm a different size in every shop! I walked into a shop the other day wearing a size 10 (UK) pair of trousers and ended up trying on size 12's in store! Weird... I'm a different size for every part of my body though. :) I'm a size 8 top and size 10/12 bottom. Size 11 clothes would fit me perfectly? Throw in to there that I'm only 5ft 2" and buying clothes is a NIGHTMARE.

It's not anyones business what your size is so Never. But I don't even know what my size actually is. So I have no clue what to tell people. I'm like extra small up top but a size 6 (on average) or 30 in jeans because of my Mediterranean curves. And then there are some brands like Rock and Republic that I can't get past my upper thighs. It's kind of messed up.

and there is an example....even when you DO say you're size when you are a 0 or 2..people say you are "bragging" about can't win...if I said I'm a 6 or 8 would someone say..oh shes just bragging? it just seems so silly. I am what I am and why should I feel ashamed when I work hard to stay fit. size zero and proud

I don't lie either -esp as my size varies in every store. I also look a lot smaller than I am. I usually always get medium or size 5/6 but that can vary- I could be a 3/4 or a 7/8 or an extra small. It sucks when ordering online. I also prefer things to be loose.

I do not lie about my size (2/XS). I think it is silly when women lie about their size since it is usually obvious they are lying. I don't talk about my size however if someone asks I'll tell them; otherwise I just keep it quite.

I don't lie because I'm damn proud of my body size. I used to wear a size 18 and I used to just not tell people what size I was because I didn't want them to know I was "plus sized". Now, I generally wear a size 0-2, depending on where I shop. Most people actually think I wear kids' clothes because I look smaller than I am. I assure them that I probably weigh more than they think coworker of mine guessed that I weigh 90 lbs, which was a good 15 lbs less than what I do weigh. My mom and mother in law like to buy clothes for me, but they don't want to risk getting stuff that won't fit, so they just get me gift cards to stores I shop at.

Nope, there is no need to lie. The truth is good enough. Depending on the clothing line, I range from a 2 to a 6. I simply say I'm an average size 4.

Who really has a set size? honestly! I fit into size 4 dresses but sometimes I wear a 7/9 in juniors. Most of my pants and dresses are 6's though. I'm proud I suppose but I don't really care about my clothing sizes though. If I'm happy about what I see in the mirror, I'm golden. With all the weight training/martial arts I do, my thighs are huge compared to most women. I'm just glad to be in fantastic shape... screw the sizes.

i don't ever talk about that stuff for myself. if people around me are talking about it - i either clam up or walk away cause i get uncomfortable talking about weight and things like that. it's more to do with my own personal issues than anything else though.

I'm 5'10" and a size 10 and PROUD OF IT. I have a curvy beautiful body. And frankly I get annoyed when I go to Ann Taylor or Gap and I'm a size 6. No I'm not. Stop trying to make me want your clothes because they are the wrong size.

I actually look smaller than my real size. Nobody can believe it when I tell them I am the size I am. The other day I was shopping with my daughter and the sales girl, a very good jeans expert tried guessing my jean size. She guessed 2 sizes smaller than I am. I have close friends who are surprised when they see me try on the size I am saying they had no idea. I have muscular thighs, I am short, and jeans that fit my thighs are usually too big in the waist and too long for me. It sucks! Finding clothes is rough unless I want to shell out money for alterations too. But, I am a proud 13/14, sometimes 12, would like to be a 10. I still have about 20 pounds to go though for that. Most people think I wear a size 10 already. I was a 7/9 all through high school with a nice flat stomach, but still...those thighs! Years of dance, skating, and gymnastics I suppose!

Hehe, people always look shocked when I tell them my size. I've got a twenty five waist, but 36 hips so I wear a couple sizes larger than I look (from the front anyways)

I'm good with my size. Actually, when I got a pair of jeans in December I texted my friends "12! OMFG 12!" They had no idea what I was talking about. I'm 5'2" and WAS a size 24 (that made me about 285lbs), so this was like a miracle to me. I'm smaller than a 12 now, but not quite a 10. So all my pants are too big and everyone tells me I need clothes that fit. Well, when I find some I will. Sheesh. I do have this one pair of pre-pregnancy jeans (10 years ago!) that I always loved. They fit great on me then when I was a different 'size' as I am now, and they fit just slightly loose now. So yeah, size seems to vary by time, space, and dimension!

oh i totally lie all the time. i am a lot bigger then i look and i hate tight clothes...i'm just sick of the feedback and the comments that i get back! when i tell people that i wear a large, i always get "NO! you should wear a small or a medium!" no, i dont want to wear a small or a medium! that is why i buy the large! ha, it looks like whether you are big or small, the comments come flying at you. ive always wondered why people care so much.

I don't lie about my size, but I am a different size in every piece of clothing I own. 2,4, never over a 6 though. Honestly - I cut the size tags out of my clothes so as not to remind myself or anyone else who might see them - like my husband's sister (big mouth, she thinks if she knows then it's everyone's business)

cmd0610, thanks for commenting back. I don't lie about my size, but I can definitely see how it seems silly for a small woman to say she wears a bigger size, as opposed to a larger woman pretending she's smaller.

I don't lie about it but I just try not to talk about it. Sizes are so unrepresentative of what size people actually are.

Wow I didn't know it varied so much! I am seriously the same size in every store I shop at (except for dresses but I think they make dresses complicated on purpose). I admit I have been guilty of making the "Zero isn't a size" remarks in the past (sorry, I don't anymore, I promise!), but that was when I was younger and hadn't become secure with myself. I mean, I agree with the comment above that said clothes size and people size are not comparable at all... I have petite friends who are size 0s and that's just the way they are, whereas I consider myself fairly toned/fit and I love my body and I wear a size 6, and I probably wouldn't get smaller even if I lost more weight. People are all different, and it's not the size that matters anyways, it's all about the fit.

not unless someone is buying me clothes, which is usually my mom or mom-in-law, they don't need to know my size. even my husband never sure of my size. if i have to go shopping and if he wants to help, he always has to ask. but i yo-yo alot in my sizes. as of right now i'm going down, but give it a few years and i'll go back up.

I know a lot of people IRL who appear to be lying to themselves about their size ... Anyway, not that anyone ever asks, but I don't lie. It's not like anyone would believe me if I said I was an 8 or a 22. Yes, these pants are a size 14, this top is an XXL, this jacket is a 1X. And don't I look great?
