Fit Tip: Eat A Snack Before Working Out

Most of us have said that we are absolutely starving after working out, including me. To avoid this post workout, "I'm going to die unless I get some food in me" attack, be sure to eat a carbohydrate loaded snack before you work out. This snack should have at least 100 calories, but try to go no higher than 200 calories. I like to snack on a Luna Bar myself. Furthermore, be sure you're properly hydrated, as thirst can be mistaken for hunger, especially after you've just sweat buckets at the gym.

I usually eat something before hand. A bar, a fruit something. i'm not one of those people that's starving afterward though. Just tired :-)

if i'm going to workout after my typical work day & feeling a bit low on energy/fuel on the way home, i usually have a serving of nuts or trail mix & strictly follow a serving size or less. that usually gives me enough of a burst to make it to the gym & through my workout.

I eat a piece of bread with a thin layer of peanut butter or chevrie before I run in the mornings. I can't handle the sugar in all those bars.

I always try and eat a snakc 30 minutes prior to working out. Like a kellogs bar or crackers. Anything! It gives me that extra push at the gym.
