FitFlops Mukluks: Cool or Not?

From MBTs to Skechers Shape Ups, there are plenty of toning shoes shaped like sneakers. A few years ago FitFlops, the exercise flip-flop, debuted and the company has been rolling out all sorts of fitness-y shoes ever since. For Fall, you can cover your tootsies and tone your backside, according to FitFlips marketing copy, with the Mukluk ($140).

You can walk about on the "muscle-loading FitFlop Micro-wobbleboard midsole" wearing breathable shearling booties. Would you drop that kind of dough for a pair of toning shoes? Or would you rather spend the $140 on series of yoga classes or a couple of sessions with a personal trainer?

definitely cool! I have really bad ankles and regular uggs and shearling boots just don't have any support. I live in my fit flops during the summer because they keep my ankles from rolling. I don't necessarily love this style, but they do have a pair that look more like regular boots that are worth it for me and my lousy ankles.

Honestly, I would have said no, but my commute increased to 20 mins walking each way this summer & I decided to try out FitFlops flip flops. I definitely felt a big difference in my leg muscles and now can't wear them b/c it's cold here. Therefore, it is tempting to want to purchase these!

I have yet to find one really comfortable pair of boots to do a TON of walking in. I love wearing fuzzy boots in the winter to keep my feet warm, but it's so hard to find a design and a size that is really comfortable to walk long distances in! Maybe because these are designed for walking, they might be more comfortable? Dunno.

I would rather spend my money on a yoga class, but I still put cool because as a parent I don't always have time to get a solid workout in. If I could get fitness benefits from wearing a certain style of shoes while going about my daily business, I would be all for it.

I put "cool," but that was before I noticed the $140 price. I wouldn't pay more than $40 for those, lol.

I'm skeptical of toning shoes to begin with, but wearing something intentionally unsteady on ice and snow is a very bad idea.

Um, I'll pass. I work out enough every day that I don't need to worry about needing extra definition anywhere. And they're sort of ugly, so I think I'll find something else to spend my $140 on.
