It only takes one mean comment to throw you off course! After posting the last picture of me in my maxi dress I got a comment in my private messages about how the dress made me look so fat and I shouldn't be wearing it. I deleted and tried to brush it off. But just letting people out there who take pleasure in insulting other people, it can really fucking hurt and damage a person. I've felt less motivated, less enthusiastic, less confident (I loved my new dress!) I've made no secret of the weight I've gained back, I went up 2-3 dress sizes from my smallest, but I've been trying so hard to lose weight again, and I quit smoking, and recently have quit Diet Coke! So I'm really sorry if you think I'm 'too fat' but all I can ever do is try my best!! #weight #weightloss #losingweight #losing #extremeweightloss #exercise #weightlossstory #weightlossjourney #weightlossdiary #weightlossinspiration #weightlossmotivation #health #healthy #healthyliving #calories #healthyeating #caloriecounting #dedication #dontgiveup #goals #personaltraining #pt #gym #beforeandafter #food #beforeandafterweightloss #plussize #hardwork #dontstop
It doesn't matter how hard you work on your health, trolls are going to be trolls. Jayne reminded us of this in her recent post to Instagram, saying "It only takes one mean comment to throw you off course!" in reference to someone sending her a fat-shaming direct message. "After posting the last picture of me in my maxi dress I got a comment in my private messages about how the dress made me look so fat and I shouldn't be wearing it," she said in her caption.
Jayne started her journey at 335 pounds. In an earlier post, she said "When I lost a lot of weight, and got down to a more 'normal' size, I'd always say (and believe at the time) I will never let myself put weight on again, I will never go back . . . and then suddenly, you have gone back and the disappointment that brings is awful."
A weight-loss journey is not linear. You don't just get to the "after" photo and then that's it, the end, right? Life goes on, and it's still hard work to manage weight and stay in shape. Jayne is a testament to that. She cut out Diet Coke, quit smoking, and is chronicling her healthy meals on Instagram in an effort to stay on her A game. Recently, she said she was "feeling in a much better place and more positive and motivated over the last few weeks," but then she received a comment from the troll.
In response to the "people out there who take pleasure in insulting other people," she said "all I can ever do is try my best!" And that's the truth! Jayne received a flood of supportive comments in response to her message about getting shamed and said she is "overwhelmed by all your amazing comments, love and support." Lesson here: in the face of trolls, keep doing your best, and turn to your community for love and support.
