Fit Tip: Prepare For the Unexpected

Often things happen that don't allow us to work out, like the torrential downpour rains that ruined nearly all of my outdoor runs a few weeks ago here in San Francisco. One thing that I have found to be good is to always have a fitness backup plan. This means that if your meeting goes late, and you miss your favorite spin class that you don't forgo exercising altogether, you just have something else on the back burner such as fitness DVDs and a resistance band at home. The backup plan can be different for everyone, just make sure to have something on hand that you won't mind doing if your original fitness plans fall through.

It's cold here, so I always just stick to the gym :)

If the weather is bad and I can't go running, I have an iTunes playlist at home for working out and dance intensely for an hour (when my boyfriend isn't home--don't want him seeing me looking stupid! ha) Otherwise I do lots of leg lifts, push-ups, crunches, stretches and lift weights.

We have a lot of wet weather where I live, so I invested in a walking machine. I put on some energetic music, or watch my favourite show on tv and before I know it, I've been exercising for an hour. I'm also trying to make sure I do some push ups every day. Don't need to go to the gym for that!
