All the Breakfast Foods That Contain Glyphosate, the Weed-Killing Chemical Linked to Cancer

Dec 24 2018 - 8:25am

A 2018 report from the Environmental Working Group [1] found that glyphosate, a common weed killer that has been linked to cancer, was found in a large amount of oat-based breakfast foods. Although the FDA and EPA insist some amounts of glyphosate are safe in food [2], it has been linked to cancer by the World Health Organization [3] and scientists in California [4].

The report found that all but two of the 45 samples (some products were sampled multiple times) made with conventionally grown oats contained glyphosate, and nearly three-fourths of those tested had levels that were higher than what the EWG scientists consider safe: 160 ppb.

Scroll through to see all the breakfast foods that were sampled and what the results found, according to the EWG report [5].
