Yeah, I have to disagree with the turkey question. I've had similar sides (same amounts) with chicken, beef & fish - But only get sleepy with turkey... - At the end of the day, I think it all depends on the individual (genetics, metabolism, etc.) & what works or doesn't work for them. The foods that lift moods & depress them should NOT be taken as gospel but as guidelines only. - If everyone reacted to various foods & alcohol the same... I would be drinking up a storm & maybe an alcoholic by now - I'm pretty much the only 1 in my family whose body can't tolerate alcohol. HELL! Cops wouldn't need to give me a breathalyzer because it would show in my face - 1, 2 sips of ANY alcohol & I'm flushed in the face & pale over the rest of my body. I absolutely HATE feeling like my head's in a furnace & my body's in an iceberg.

I think what people are forgetting is that the afternoon slump isn't directly after lunch. If you feel sleepy directly after the meal, then yes it was probably due to having a big meal, like with Thanksgiving. But they are talking about feeling a slump around 3 pm or about three-four hours after most people have had lunch.

^^Agreed. Plus, are all vegetables high in omega-6's or only certain ones? If it's all, then wouldn't spinach also make you cranky?

If you get sleepy b/c of the big meal on Thanksgiving then a big meal at lunch would give you an afternoon slump as well.
