Get the Bod: Jessica Alba

Let's start by saying everyone is different, and while we can't make you Jessica Alba (this isn't plastic surgery here), we can fill you in on what's reported Miss Alba does to keep fit.

To learn Jessica's daily routine,

  • Warm-up for 10-15 minutes to bring your heart rate up on the treadmill or elliptical
  • 45 minutes (to one hour) of cardio
  • 50 lunges
  • 50 crunches
  • 10 minute cool down on the treadmill or elliptical to bring your heart rate back down

Fit's Tip: While it was never reported that Jessica starts or ends her routine with stretching, it is always a good idea to stretch before and after working out.

There are lots of things you can do to lose weight besides crazy workout regiments and starving yourself. In fact, tactics like these rarely work because they're all built around drastically changing your lifestyle. Instead just try to make small changes incrementally to bring yourself where you want to be. If you currently don't drink any water, start by adding 2-3 glasses a day and work up to where you need to be. Also remember that the fluid in fruits and vegetables count as your fluid intake so don't overdo it. If you don't eat any fruits or vegetables then start by eating 1-2 servings a day and increase your intake by one serving each week or sooner if you can. If you currently don't exercise at all then start by adding two 30 minute sessions. You may have to choose which TV show you're willing to give up for this one. :-) If you're feeling blue or depressed the only person who can change that is you! Try to figure out what it is that's got you down and then see how you can look at that situation differently so you can focus on the positive. Anytime your brain tries to get you down remember the positive side of the situation for an immediate attitude adjustment. You can also try to think about situations you'd like to change and honestly evaluate whether or not you can do anything about it. Eventually you'll find yourself not feeling so bad about whatever it was. This is a great method to use for any situations you're not happy about. What you'll find is that as you add in small changes to your life before you know it you'll look in the mirror and staring back at you there will be a whole new person.

i think jessica has one of the best bodies out there and she looks real, not emaciated or stick skinny. she looks strong and toned, i love it so i'll definitely give some of her routine a try.

She does that workout and she isn't on a very strict diet, she says she eats an egg-white omelette and fruit or cottage cheese with peaches for breakfast, lunch is salad and dinner is loads of vegetables with fish or lean meat. Throughout the day if she's hungry she eats a chocolate, dried fruit or strawberry frozen yogurts. She tries to stay away from desserts and bread but say you have to indulge in that big chocolate cake when you feel the urge, aslong as the urges are only one a month or something!!

I do Jessica's workout and I follow her diet and its great! I drink as much water as she does and I feel great! I love my body! (well most of the time!)

3 litres of water a day isn't actually that much, and I do that much work out a day and its not helping! I'm more interested in the diet that accompanies the workout.

She also said in various interviews that she alternates cardio and weights and obviously she has a specific diet.She said she ate a lot of fruits and vegetable, she drinks almost 3 liters of water a day(that's A LOT) and lot's of fish and chicken.

Is it before then?? I swear I read in Fitness magazine that it's not good to stretch after a workout! Ahh! OK I will keep stretching! But I will also look for that article FIT!

You are so right on Kelly. After a work out is the best time to stretch. Your body is all warmed up. Plus, you want the new muscle fiber that you have created to be long and lean. So stretch Blonde Sugar. Stretch.
