One-Bowl Gluten-Free Chocolate Cake

This gluten-free version of a traditional chocolate cake really satisfies a sweet tooth. Serve it for the holidays and see if anyone can really tell that it's free of wheat.

Gluten-free Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cups gluten-free flour
  2. 1/2 cup cocoa
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 2 teaspoons baking soda
  6. 3/4 teaspoon guar gum or 3/4 teaspoon xanthan gum
  7. 5 tablespoons cooking oil
  8. 1 tablespoon vinegar
  9. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  10. 1 egg
  11. 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Ingredients

  3. Add all liquid ingredients and mix well.
  4. Mixed up

  5. Bake in greased and floured nine-inch square pan (or lined with waxed paper) at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Baking pan

  7. Serve as is or drizzle some fudge over the top for extra indulgence.
