Check out this recipe for a creamy green smoothie that FitSugar reader JuicyNoelle posted in our Healthy Recipe Group.

Green smoothies are filled with green leafy veggies. But they are so tasty, you won’t even know you are eating them. The addition of a half an avocado to this green smoothie adds a creamy twist to the classic green smoothie. This is the smoothie I recommend to all my friends who are skeptical about drinking anything GREEN.

Creamy Green Smoothie


  1. One handful of baby spinach
  2. ½ of a ripe avocado
  3. ½ of a banana
  4. Juice from half a lime
  5. Ice as desired
  6. Filtered water as desired
  7. Squeeze of lime for topping


  1. Combine the ingredients into a blender. Any blender will do, though a high power blender makes the smoothies even creamier and more delicious. Add water and ice to thin or thicken as desired.
  2. Make sure ice is fully blended and top with squeeze of lime if desired.

Serves one.

i really want to try this now! im terrified of how it would taste but im sure judging by everyones comments that its great. i dont like the grassy taste of spinach but im sure itll be good with all the ingredients mashed in.

I want to try this with strawberries instead of bananas. I think my husband would LOVE this...I'm trying to sneak more veggies into his diet and I think this would be perfect.

I love green smoothies! I usually skip the avocado and stick to a banana for creaminess. Grab a handful of just-about-to-bolt fresh greens from my garden, throw in any other fruit I have on hand, voila! Instant fruit & veg explosion!

I make smoothies like this all the time, but mine are made as follows: 2 cups spinach heated in a bowl with water in the microwave for 5 minutes 1 Whole Banana 1 Cup Almond Milk 1 packet of splenda Cinnamon to taste Ice This smoothie taste so good. You cannot even tell there is spinach in it. And this entire recipe is 185 calories. I am going to try the one posted here on fitsugar. =)
