Have You Ever Lied About How Often You Work Out?

We've all had conversations that contain a little one-up-manship, and I am sure some of those conversations had to do with working out. Whether it is to impress an athletically minded potential love interest or to rationalize eating a large piece of chocolate cake, we have probably all stretched the truth about our workout schedules.

I am curious . . .

Cannot say I have.

No, that seems counter-productive. If you feel guilty about it, then do something about it!!! But I agree with some of you - I guess some people do think I'm a fitness freak, but what the hell, I enjoy it and I'm proud of it and all you ladies should be too, you gym bunnies you!

I can't/never have. It would go against my whole workout philsophy that centers around being accountable to myself!

I don't talk about it that much, mostly because I do a lot of group things with friends, we all know who does what. And it doesn't matter how much you do something, the only thing that might earn bragging rights is doing something really well. And at that point, we give props so people don't have to fish for compliments!

I'm with Spectra, I have friends who never work out, and think that I am an exercise freak. I stopped talking about it because of it. I don't tend to downplay with other people, just a few. I'm proud of my dedication to my body.

I lie about how much I work out...I downplay it a lot. My friends think I only work out 3-4 days a week, when I really work out a lot more than that.

Nope, I don't need to.

I don't talk about that so not really.

I've lied both ways - saying I do more or less - depending on my audience...but not all the time!

Nope and if I were to, I'd lean the way of saying I don't workout as much as I do. Because I hate when people think I spend my life working out. Which I don't, but when you say "I work out 4-5 days a week" people are always like wow, that's a lot!

I REALLY try to aim for 4x a week, sometimes I come under, sometimes I go over.

MindayH~ I have that problem too. :( Dating is the worst... "What do you mean you'd rather go to the gym than meet with me?" Uh, sorry guy! I don't know you well enough to put you above me!

I don't think I have. Well maybe I've exagerated. My trainer will ask if I worked out on a mini vacation and while we did walk a ton, it wasn't a serious workout.

dqs - I am actually the same as you! If I tell people I can't do something because I am going to workout - they try to convince me not go.

Yes, (shamefully), I have.
