Plus, after seeing the reviews of the "controversial" running skirts, I just might go out and get some, not only because they're cute, but because it might be nice not to have to worry about why some of my shorts are riding up for the 80th time.

I love my running skirts. I feel a little naive for not knowing they were controversial at all. I am with you all, to each his or her own.

Yeah, she kinda went apesh*t on women who wear running skirts. I personally don't wear them because I like my normal running shorts, but who cares what you wear? If you should leave all concerns about looks at home when you run (the writer's thesis, it seems), then maybe she should just stick to running, without analyzing the outfit of the person running next to her. Besides, a lot of people at least start out running to look better, so it's disingenuous to say that looks don't enter into running at all.

I see NOTHING wrong with running skirts. I often don't feel comfortable in short running shorts and like to have a little extra material. She the writer like Freaks Out on people wanting to look nice. If someone wear a skort when they run because they feel better about how they look who's to say that's WRONG? A lot of people work out for the sole reason to look good. I think anytime a woman feels good about herself, whether it be because of a cute skirt or a kick ass workout, it's worthwhile. We women have enough issues without people putting us down for trying to feel good. Jeez.
