How Do You Reward Yourself?

We set goals for ourselves constantly, but to keep going we definitely need to reward ourselves for a job well done. So what do you reward yourself with for staying on track?

All are great rewards...I guess whatever I'm in the mood for :-)

oh, a 3 hour call with a best friend or a loved one isn't supposed to be a weekly event? ;)

It usually depends on what the goal is, but I usually reward myself with something small that is really special to me. Maybe a new book, fresh flowers, or taking some time I wouldn't normally give myself to make cards or be creative.

A day without healthy food! **“In my mind, I’ve always been an A-list Hollywood superstar. Y’all just didn’t know yet.” -Will Smith **

A day off of working out. Once a week I take a day to relax my muscles and I feel more well rested for my next workout.

I feel you Butterfly4404. I would love a reward form the outside - but they are so rare. I also really like SparkPeople. It is a great site and helps you really track all your stuff. is the link for any of you who might be interested.

I said other because I use both the new clothes and food, it just depends on what I want more. ;) Food is more a once every 2 month type thing, where new clothes or under things are more often. That helps me to feel like I'm getting somewhere, and the food helps me skip all the "just ok" desserts if I know something incredible is soon to in anything from the Cheesecake Factory dessert menu.

I had a hard time choosing between wine and shopping...I would also say a weekend away somewhere fun as "other" - I like rewards :)

All of the above, except for the flowers and phone call. Dieting and exercise is very difficult for me! I don't enjoy it at all so I have to make myself do I need big rewards!

I used to reward myself with food, but then Sparkpeople told me that was a bad idea. I totally see why, but I loved getting chocolate! I have a hard time rewarding myself (when you have to WAIT until the cash comes in to buy yourself some new deoderant or moisturizer, spa treatments are out of the question). They had a good idea to put a dollar away every time you completed a small goal, then use that money when you reach your big goal to buy yourself something nice. My mom has been doing great on SparkPeople, so I think in a couple months when I get my bonus, I'm going to take her out for a girls' day. While you should probably be rewarding YOURSELF, wouldn't it be wonderful if someone ELSE said "Hey, you're doing such a great job, let me treat you!"??
