How Do You Strength Train?

When I am doing strength training I like to mix it up. Dumbbells one day. Resistance bands the next workout. I actually hardly ever use the weight machines because I feel like I get a better burn without them. I notice that people at the gym have their own routines and certain folks stick to certain strength training methods. Of course I'm curious about you guys. How do you typically strength train?

I mix Dumbbells, a resistance band and body weight exercises (in the form of Pilates and Yoga) :-) I don't go to the gym, so I don't use all those machines. I figure I can tone my body just as well at the comfort of my own home!

I strongly dislike weight machines and resistance tubes. I try to mix it up with everything else. Dumbbells are my go-to.

I love doing body weight exercises, along with dumbells, the stability ball, and my Wii Fit! :)

I put all of the above, but I don't use weight machines or resistance bands. Man, I wish polls could have ticky boxes sometimes.

I use 6kg kettle bells, one at a time. I find that kettle bell training keeps me lithe and lean, and burns more calories than other forms of strength training.

Just dumbbells and body weight...i'm not a fan of those weight machines!

I always go back to weights as my default exercise. I put all of the above.

Most of the time I use dumbbells but sometimes it's body weight only.

I do all of the above, sometimes combining the resistence bands with free weights and the machines. I love my trainer - he keeps it fun and interesting for me.

I use free weights, resistance bands and body weights. I love weight lifting, it's very liberating.

I hardly ever use the machines since I started taking classes b/c we do so much weight training in them using dumbells, body bars, own weight for things like squats and lunges, resistance bands... So pretty much anything besides a machine is what I use. I used to do the inner outer thigh machine but I dont think it really worked. And I used to do the biceps curls and tricep extentions too, but like fit, i feel I get a better burn doing exercises without them.

at the gym i use only weight machines, at home dumbells, bodyweight and sometimes resistance bands.

Now that I'm home for thesummer, I mainly use dumbbells and body weight exercises. When I'm at school and have access to the gym, I use mainly weight machines.

I do dumbbels, body weight and resistance bands. Oh, and I mow my lawn, which is on a very steep hill! ;-)

I use everything. I do free weights and body resistance on my own (push ups are my new favorite thing) and when I work out with my trainer we use the cable machine, weight machines and bands. I like to use some of those machines because they work muscles I didn't even know I had sometimes! Mostly thought I use body and dumbells. It's just the easiest.

i don't go to the gym, i do all my strength training at home. so i either use body weight, hand weights, exercise bands or tubes.

I don't use weight machines, or resistance bands, but I do use everything else. Lately, though, I haven't been doing as much strength training since I'm focusing so much on running.
