Electric razor! Just make sure it's fully charged before you leave or that you bring extra batteries (if it's the kind that runs on replaceable batteries). You won't get as silky smooth of a shave as you would with a blade, but a lot of them will get pretty darn close. You could also always dry shave it and just be absolutely sure to be careful and use a lot of moisturizer afterwards, but that still might result in razer burn/ingrown hairs more unsightly than a little bit of stubble. If you're in a situation where you're hiking for multiple days and bringing extra stuff will weigh you down, though, you just have to suck it up and make sure to shave the morning you head out. If you get a little extra stubble on the mountain, trust me - nobody will care or notice. Either way, another good option is a pair of long pants with a lot of breathability. Check out REI's website and compare some of the functions - long pants that not only breathe but protect against the sun's rays are always a good option.

What about shaving? I suppose you could get waxed and whatnot before you go, but what if you can't and have no running water?
