How Often Do You Change Your Workout?

I was talking with a friend about our gym routines, and she mentioned that she'd been running the same treadmill workout for most of the year. I asked her if she felt like sticking with the same routine was making her bored or unmotivated to exercise, but she said that she'd rather be able to know what to expect in her workouts than see results. For her, exercise was more about maintenance, so she said had no intention of trying anything new. What about you? Are you constantly switching it up to avoid weight-loss plateau and boredom, or do you like knowing exactly what you'll be getting out of your routine?
