Jessica Alba in February 2010 Issue of Self Magazine

Jessica Alba Says Yes to the Stretch (Marks)

In the February issue of Self, cover girl Jessica Alba says she spends too much time gushing over her daughter Honor to worry about her post-pregnancy body. I don't think she has anything to worry about, though — Jessica looked amazing cruising the beach in her bikini just three months after giving birth. The star has been laying pretty low as of late, but look for her as part of the star-studded cast in Valentine's Day. Here are some highlights from the article:

  • On her post-pregnancy body: "Pregnancy was the most incredible experience I've ever had, so I’ll take the stretch marks. I’ll take the sagging boobs. I'll take the cellulite I can never get rid of. If you walk around with your head held high and you’re happy and positive, then all that other stuff is irrelevant. Confidence is number one."
  • On diets: “Diets are for the birds. I think you have to eat in a way that makes you feel your best. I include a lot of vegetables and lean protein and fruit and grains in my diet. I’m not a big workout person. Every single day, I tell my girlfriends we’re starting a regimen. And then it’s, like, ‘Want to get dinner? Want a glass of wine?’”
  • On how she uses the Internet: “I’ve bought 70 percent of my house off CraigsList! I’ve found so many things: couches, tables, lamps. I love the idea of recycling furniture and there being a history there.”

It's all relative to her. She says she's not crazy about workouts, which means she probably still does them. Plus she doesn't look like she has a "workout" body, more like a restricted calorie body...she's sooo thin.

I haven't seen any cellulite, hanging boobs or stretch marks in any of her post-pregnancy bikini pictures...ever.

Stretch marks? What crap. I'll need to see those stretch marks before I put any faith in your words, Jessica.

She's lying, I mean it's not as if she still lives on coffee & yogurt but she has lost all the weight since. And since she had to work at it before the baby, she obviously has to work to maintain where she's at. But hopefully she is more laid back about it now, she seemed too obsessive before.

Um, she's "not a workout person"? Wasn't she photographed leaving the gym pretty much every single day while she was pregnant? Lots of people were giving her crap for working out so hard while she was pregnant. And I know she said that she sometimes lives on yogurt and coffee for a, yeah, she's pretty much a huge liar. Maybe having a kid helped her chill out a little, but still...I think she's totally full of it.

I think her comments might be slightly taken out of context. I don't think she would flat out lie in the interview. She probably does work out, but it's probably a lot less intense since she's so busy with her baby now. Pre- baby, she probably was much more regimented about it. She eats healthy and probably gets exercise from lifting her baby and going for walks and playing with her. I also like that she buys things on craigslist!

I have nothing negative to say about Jessica Alba, she's happy, a wife + mother, and achieving her goals without lecturing people on how they should be. Additionally, I though the whole premise of the Sugar Network (fitsugar included) was to deal with different subject matters with gossip on celebrities relating to that very subject matter also included.

Yeah sure, she doesn't work out. What BS. I love fitsugar, but I'm so sick of the celebrity postings. Of course they don't worry as much as normal people - they're insanely gorgeous and filthy rich.

I'm imagining selling a lamp on CraigsList then handing it over to the person.... who happens to be Jessica Alba.

craigslist is the best place to buy furniture, hands down! You always find gems on that website. btw, the only reason why she worked out so hard after she had Honor is because of that campaign she had to do.

I agree laura. She also says she is not a diet person but I remember a couple of years ago she basically said all she eats is yogurt and coffee. Sounds she is not on a "diet", but does have an ED to me. Maybe having a baby made her change her view point of food, but with how thin she is now I somehow doubt it. I just don't believe anything she says (like when she claimed she doesn't own a hairbrush). She is full of it.

I like her quote about craigslist. I can't tell you guys how much stuff I've purchased off that site.

She says she's not a big workout person..........and the story you link to 'in her bikini' details her 5 or 6 days a week workout schedule after she had her child... :ponder: I'm so sick of these postings too. :-(
