A Healthy Bite: Lauren Conrad Covers Allure

"You're the first person to notice any weight gain or loss and then to have it pointed out can be embarrassing . . . I was 17 when I signed on [to Laguna Beach] and that's a vulnerable age anyway. I was still figuring out who I was. To be on television and told a million things that are wrong with you was hard, but I very quickly decided that I just had to be me."

— Lauren Conrad on dealing with the pressure to be perfect in Hollywood. Lauren is on the cover of Allure's May issue; inside she talks about living her life onscreen, body image, and also shares her favorite beauty tips.

Maybe she was having a bad day. She also came to my town and she was delightful. My friend works at the bookstore that was hosting the signing, and she said that Lauren even stayed after the signing was over to talk to the staff and personally thank them all.

I'm not a big fan of her. I was, and then she came out to my hometown for a publicity thing and she was just very stuck up. She thought she was better than every one and just had this attitude about her. I thought she would be more down to earth than that, but I guess not.
