Motivation Technique: Suit Up

Sometimes our good exercise intentions bump up against lack of motivation, and our best laid workout plans are derailed. It happens to the best of us. I have a simple technique that might just break down the imaginary, yet powerful, force field pinning you to your couch. Lace up your sneakers and put on your workout clothes. If you're dressed for exercising the chances are much higher that you will actually do it. Looking down at your sneaks will remind you that a workout is only a heartbeat away.

This always works for me. I actually sleep in my sports bra and I have my workout gear right by my bed so I have no excuse to not work out. Once I have my shoes and stuff on, I definitely feel a lot more "ready" to work out.

This is definitely one of the best ways to stay motivated before you workout. I make sure I lay out my gym clothes at night so in the morning I have no excuse not to slap them on real quick, grab a snack, and hit the gym. It works!
