Do You Organize Your Life Around Exercise?

It's one thing to be a gym rat — it's another to be Heidi Montag. The reality star was recently quoted in Us Weekly as saying she worked out over 14 hours a day for eight weeks in order to get bikini-ready for a pool party, which she attended over the weekend. "I've been working out from, like, 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. for two months now. I've been working out really hard because I had this pool party and I was, like, I have to be in shape," she said.

Heidi (here, seen about a month ago on the left and at the pool party on the right) said she worked out so hard because she was overweight, and she supposedly ended up shedding 27 pounds from her once-130-pound frame because of her dedication to running and lifting weights. "I was actually a lot overweight," she said. "It was the most I've ever been because I've kind of been in hiding eating pie with my husband and puppies, so I needed to get back in shape."

It sounds like Heidi had to keep her social card empty in order to fit in all that exercise! While her extreme case isn't the healthiest — overexercising can lead to exhaustion, depression, and injuries, and it can be a sign of a bigger problem, like body-image issues — some people can't get enough of an active lifestyle and make sure to schedule around any sweat sessions. @onlysourcherry...LMAO! I get working out on a certain schedule but 14 hours a day? I work out no more than 2 hours a day that includes my hour of yoga daily in the evening. She would be better served squeezing in an appointment with a shrink during her day.

Meh. It's a balance. If you're constantly skipping your workout because something else comes up, you're not working out enough. But if you miss out on life because you're working out, then that's not good either. I schedule my workouts and if something comes up, I don't just cancel my workout, I re-schedule.

i do actually. being preggo - i def want to make sure that i'm being as healthy as possible and a lot of the time i'm arranging my day around being able to be healthy and work out etc while i'm still able to. that way hopefully me and my baby will be healthy and once i have him, i'll be able to bounce back to my pre baby shape (if not better)

I definitely make sure there is time in my schedule. It really improves my mood and as someone that deals with depression and anxiety, it's uber important.

I signed up for yoga again and found the best vinyasa class from 5-6.30pm on Saturdays. I'm ready to cancel anything so I can make it to the class!

I definitely make time in my schedule to exercise, but I don't freak out if it doesn't happen. Sometimes there are more important things to do than exercising like sleeping, grocery shopping, or spending time with family.
