Review of PB2 Defatted Peanut Butter

PB2: A Creamy Dollop of Euphoria

This post comes from the OnSugar blog Sophie's Sweeties.

I heard the rumble of the delivery truck as it pulled away from my house. I opened the front door, and there rested a little brown box. So petite and unassuming. My PB2 had arrived! Seriously peeps, get online and order yourself some PB2, too!

It comes in powdered form, and to reconstitute it into a paste you mix two parts powder to one part water (or any liquid of your liking). It tastes just as good as regular peanut butter but has 85 percent fewer fat calories because the peanuts are defatted (two tablespoons of PB2 has 45 cals, 13 from fat. The same amount of a typical peanut butter has about 190 cals, 145 from fat). Try a dollop of PB2 on your oatmeal or mixed into a protein shake. Or add a sprinkle to pad Thai (a lightened up recipe for this dish will be in the works pronto!).

Ahh, at last, I can have my peanut butter and eat it too.

Ok, I got PB2 - the chocolate flavor- and mostly love it. Is it as creamy and wonderful as a jar of Skippy? No. But it makes a mean froyo shake, and has almost a quarter of the calories.

I've never tried this, but I prefer actual nut butters that I make at home using fresh nuts.

I re-stock my PB2 supply every month and I love it. I still eat regular all natural PB, however I love to add PB2 to my smoothies and when I cook my oatmeal (I cook my oats with water however add 2 tbs of PB2 and 1/2 of tasty:)

I have tried PB2 in both regular and chocolate varieties. I love it for the calories that it cuts out, however NOTHING can compare to ACTUAL peanut butter. The texture is different, the flavor is different. Its not worth the calorie swap for me...

It may not have artificial ingredients, but "defatted" peanuts are definitely NOT natural. I'm with amber512 on this one.

PB2 is an all natural product without preservatives or any artificial ingredients. It's simply ground peanuts, salt, and sugar

I prefer real peanut butter. Organic, all-natural ingredients. Healthy fats. YUM
