Rosario Dawson and Emmanuelle Chriqui at EMA Organic Garden

Rosario Dawson Is a Farmer in Disguise

Rosario Dawson showed up to the Learning Garden at Venice High School to give her support to the Yes to Carrots Garden Challenge for public schools. The winning school gets a grant to start an organic garden program and a year's worth of gardening supplies. Not too shabby, right? The challenge is part of a campaign from the Environmental Media Association to help introduce organic gardening in public schools.

If you don't have a garden of your own, now is a perfect time to start one. And even if it's just a small herb garden in your home, the gratification of growing your own food is huge. If it still seems like too big of an undertaking in your own home, find a nearby community garden. Not only do you get the benefit of fresh produce, you also build stronger bonds with your neighbors. Do any of you belong to a garden in your community?
