These Simple Food Swaps Could Save You Hundreds of Calories

We make dozens of food choices throughout the day: how we take our coffee; what we want to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and which snack we should pick from the convenience store around the corner. The choices you make could mean the difference between seeing progress on your weight-loss journey or not — if you're not paying attention, you could be eating hundreds of extra calories throughout the day.

As Instagram user Amanda Meixner (@meowmeix) showed, you can cut back on calories and make healthier choices with a few simple swaps. If you're craving something salty, opt for popcorn instead of potato chips. When you hit Starbucks, be sure to order unsweetened iced coffee with a splash of your favorite milk instead of a sugary Frappuccino. And if you're craving a burger, eat it with pieces of lettuce as the bun instead of the regular bread bun it comes with.

"Small tweaks add up!" Amanda wrote in the caption. "These swaps will not only save your waistline but also your health. The top side is full of processed foods, bad oils & sugar bombs while the bottom side is less processed & lower calorie to boot."

By making these swaps, you could save hundreds of calories, dozens of grams of sugar, and about 20 grams of processed carbs. If you're still not losing weight, take a look at your daily food choices — a few simple tweaks could make all the difference.
