Sleeping and Hitting the Snooze Button

How Many Times Do You Hit the Snooze Button?

I'm one of those people who could sleep nine hours a night and still be tired in the morning — I just love to sleep! When my alarm goes off, I'm so groggy that I can't even think about waking up, so I usually set it early so I can snooze a couple times and catch an extra 20 minutes of shut-eye. What about you?

SuperGigi - You Understand! Yes, I hit the snooze button, and I hit it a lot because I just like to keep dreaming the dream I was in, or start thinking about the day ahead, but stay in the warmth of my bed. I need to get one of those alarms where I can softly play a song like that to start waking up. I can only hop right out of bed if the sun is coming up, and I have to get up to get ready for work at 5:30AM, so most of the year I hit snooze several times before I can actually drag myself out of bed. My husband doesn't like the constant alarms (I have to set 2, just in case) and I've tried enlisting him to help me out by nudging me or straight out telling me to get out of bed, but he's not mean enough! Sometimes he just snuggles me instead.

I am morning person when I know that I have some thing to do early in the morning, but I am not one when I do not have to do that day. I hit my alarm only once to turn it off so I can get up when I am get ready

Once the annoying beeping starts I have to wake up. I just can't fall back asleep once something has woken me up, no matter how little sleep I have gotten.

I used to hit it 3 or 4 times. But then I started getting to work late. So I set the alarm earlier and then I could hit it 3 times and still be on time, lol. But I find I hit the snooze button more in the winter and more if I hate what is going on at work, which was very often.

I hate the snooze button. What is the point?? 10 minutes of "sleep" is not beneficial at all. You're definitely better off just setting your alarm for the time you want to get up and getting that much more sleep.

I think I've hit the snooze button once in the past three years... I'd rather just get right up. One thing I don't understand is my roommate this past school year--she would set her alarm, and not hit the snooze button or turn it off. She'd just let it go off. SO ANNOYING. How could she stand that?!

I never hit the snooze button. My hubby is a slow riser though and he sets his alarm on his watch. The first time it goes off he hits the snooze, jumps out of bed and goes to the couch so I won't be bothered by it. Then he will hit it 2-3 times more.

I have an old clock, and I have no idea how to use the snooze button. I just turn it off, and have my cell act as a second alarm 5 minutes later, but it's across the room.

I'm all about the snooze button. In college I'd snooze at least 40 minutes. I need that much time to slowly wake up. I don't get how people just rise out of bed the second their alarm goes off the first time. I'm way too out of it.

Never hit the snooze. I set my alarm for the latest possible time and get up on the first ring. I have a pretty good internal clock, so I am usually awake a few mins. before the alarm goes off.

My snooze goes off every two minutes... so i hit it about four times but am only in bed about 8-10 extra minutes. It's so much better, a snooze that would make me ten minutes late could make me seriously late! And yes, my boyfriend hates it. haha.

Wow I'm surprised so many get right up without a snooze button! I wish I had that kind of motivation but I definitely don't. Technically my alarm goes off every 7 minutes (not 10), so I chose the "three times"/half hour option even though I technically hit it four times :)

Haven't used an alarm clock in ages! I rise naturally..... Never oversleep... Weird?

1-3 times per morning. My boyfriend gets right up though, no matter the time...I find that insane.

I think it's easier to get up to your alarm if you pep talk yourself before you go to bed. Instead of being like, "Ah man I have to get up so early. Blah, blah, blah." Just be like, "Alright, I'm getting up at so and so time." You tend to wake up a little more refreshed. Positive thoughts people!

this is my biggest summer gripe - it's still light when i go to bed at 10.30, i wake up as soon as the sun rises, say, 5:30 am, then have trouble getting back to sleep and by the time i do, my alarm is ringing at 7am, whereupon I press snooze until 7:15ish...i am definitely a morning person, but end up crashing at around 2-3pm because of lack of sleep
