Speak Up: What's Your New Year's Resolution?

Speak Up: What's Your New Year's Resolution?

The year is almost over, which means not only are we going through all the best things of 2009, but it's also time to start thinking about those New Year's resolutions.

You know I am curious if you guys have any healthy resolutions for 2010, so speak up and share them in the comments section below. No resolution is too big or too small to share. I want to hear them all.

1. Exersize more. I mean I'm still young, and not overweight but... terribly out of shape, and I already have neck and back pains... I'm 13. Not good. 2. Be happier! :D Was my last year's too, but I didn't carry through. I really think yoga has been helping me with this. 3. Be more social. I tend to shut myself into my room and avoid making friends. 4. SLEEP MORE! Which, in a roundabout way, will help me with pretty much everything on this list and more. If I'm 13 and need to drink coffee everymorning, something isn't right.

I'd like to fit into my old jeans. They're only a size smaller, but I haven't been able to do it. Focus more on toning my muscles instead of making them bigger. I like that I've felt strong, but it's not so great, now that my arms are a little big for some shirts. Push myself in my classes, to try and graduate as soon as possible! Get more quality alone time with my man. Instead of just sitting and watching tv, I want us to do something fun together!

I don't really have a list, but this is what I have been thinking about lately: 1. The usual: get in shape--I want to get to a certain waist circumference. 2. Floss daily. 3. Read more. 4. Cut down on the profanities :) 5. Be grateful. 6. Manage my time better, be less of a procrastinator. 7. Make lemon lamingtons. I saw a WSJ article today on keeping resolutions. I didn't finish it, but it sounded pretty good. If you get WSJ (not sure if the article is online), check it out. Happy new year to all!

1. To be content and happy with the life I have now, whilst still pushing myself towards my goals of a better future. I believe I need to be happy with my present because without that I don't see myself completing those goals. 2. Not let my disease be an excuse to stay in the house all day. I want to do something outside everyday, even if that is just walking the dogs every night. 3. Save up for my families tickets to Ireland and Scotland this summer so we can enjoy a first class flight for the first time! Also, to turn off my blackberry for the whole trip..scary! 4. Tell each of my family members in my home, including the doggies, something I admire or love about them everyday! Happy 2010 and good luck to everyone with their resolutions!

I'm so enjoying reading and being inspired by your resolutions. I haven't finished making mine yet, but two that I know will be on the list are: 1) Get to bed by 10:30 - 11:00 so that I can get 7 1/2 to 8 hours sleep and still get up in time to not be rushed in the morning 2) Give yoga a real try (as in, more than one class, which is all I've ever done so far, I'm afraid :-)

My 2010 goal is as follows: All meat/dairy products that I consume will be organic/grass-fed. I already drink organic milk and eat organic eggs, but I'm moving over to organic grass-fed beef, and organic chicken breasts, cottage cheese, etc. I also just discovered that my Organic milk (Horizon brand) is not quite the beacon of health that I thought it was, so I'm switching to Organic Pastures raw milk.

- Return to veganism (I have been a dairy-free vegetarian for 8 years, but the past few years I would make the occasional "exception") - At least for the first 3 weeks I will go gluten-free. If I feel a lot better after 21 days I will eliminate gluten from my diet entirely - Give up caffeine (I never have a craving for it. I just find myself drinking the stuff because I work within a few feet from Starbucks) - Do yoga at least 3x a week. - Add more strength training into my workout routine - Get certified in spin or zumba - Cook at home more often (now with a complicated diet I have no choice!) - Get my finances back in track! UGH!
