Speak Up: What's Your Sleeping Schedule?

Adequate sleep is a vital part of a healthy life. Not catching enough Zs has been linked to migraines, heart problems, a weakend immune system, high blood pressure, weight issues, and of course crankiness.

While it's best to aim for seven to eight hours of sleep a night, no one says you need to hit the sheets by 10 p.m. So what is your sleep schedule? Do you feel like you get enough sleep? Do you go to bed at the same time every night and wake up every morning at the same time? What about on the weekends? Share your sleep schedule in the comments section below.

I try for 8-9 or eve 10 hours if I'm training particularly hard. in the summer I either run early or work early, so it's bed by about 8pm to be up by 5 or 530am. During the fall and spring though I tend to got to bed at 930 or 10 and get up around 6 or 7.

Tiger Lily...I feel your pain! I get in bed around 9:30, but don't fall asleep til 11 or so. And then I wake up all night long. Then, I'm exhausted all day! And you think I'd sleep in on the weekends...but it doesn't matter...if I go to bed at 4, I'm up at 7 or 8. It sucks.

We got to bed about 11pm and then I wake up around 2am, 4am and then usually about half an hour before the alarm at 6am. I've told my doctor but I am being tested for all kinds of things so she isn't too concerned with it right now. :(

Since I shortened my commute, I dont have to wake up during the week until 7:30 AM. This means as long as I hit the hay by midnight at the latest, I'm golden. This is awesome cos it means I have so much more time in the evenings to do shit and go out and see friends! Back in the day I used to have to be up at 5:00 AM, and I used to go to bed at 8:30 PM sometimes. That friggen sucked. Here's to moving closer to work! :drinks:

My sleep schedule is terrible in comparison to most people on here. But I'm in college, and I don't have classes until noon1 I usually go to sleep between 2-4 am every day, and then I wake up between 8-10 am. On Fridays, I wake up at about 9 or 10 because I have a baby-sitting job from 11-2:30. On Saturday and Sunday, I sleep like there's no tomorrow! kikidawn - I feel the same way about oversleeping. Sometimes I feel more tired if I get 12 hours of sleep versus 6 hours. It probably has to do with my diet or catching up on lack of sleep or something.

Usually in bed around 10, sometimes as late as 11, up at 6:30 or 6:45 every day. I'm always tired because I have a neuro-muscular disorder that causes fatigue, and it's been playing up lately so I usually take a 1.5 hour nap after work as well. It's the only way I can do anything in the evening other than lie on the couch.

oh it's a touchy subject.. I have a hard time falling asleep, I really try to get 8 hours at night.. meaning to fall asleep by 11 pm and wake up at 7.. but even if i'm in bed by 10 i can't fall asleep by 11.. weekends suck even more coz i get up at 7am after coming home at 4ish. I just wake up! feeling tired and exhausted but not being able to go back to sleep :(

I've noticed that refined sugar and carbohydrates tend to make me sleep more. I can get by on 6.5 hours without an alarm clock (unless the sun counts) and feel fine. As they say, quality over quantity. And I never skip out on an afternoon power nap. :)

My sleep schedule should look like this: 9pm - 6ish am, but it doesn't ... it usually looks like this: 10(11)pm - 7ish am. That's 9 hours or so of sleep, but it doesn't do it for me. I am exhausted. I think it's b/c our mattress sucks though (like no padding on top of the springs). So I'm getting quantity sleep, but not quality sleep. We are going to get a new mattress tomorrow. Also is it possible to get too much sleep and that make you feel tired and exhausted throughout the day? B/c I can sleep all the time, 10-12 hours a night and still feel tired the next day! I don't know what's wrong with me :(

It was all over the place during summer...trying to get it all sorted out again since classes start soon. So now bed by 10:00 and alarm goes off at 6:15. Haven't been able to get up before 7:30 yet though, lol. Oh well, may as well enjoy my last couple weeks of freedom :)

Promptly at 10 pm every night, and up at 6:45 am. Even on weekends I go to bed relatively early, and am up around 9 am. I need a solid 8 hours or else I'm a total bitch, just ask my students! LOL

I usually go to bed btwn midnight and 12:30 and wake up around 7:45ish. Try not to sleep in on weekends either to maximize my down time to enjoy!

I usually try to go to bed by 11:30 and get up around 7:45. However, I just moved next door to a preschool and the screaming children right below my window at 7am SUCK. Not to mention my dog starts getting barky because everyone is walking their dogs right below our window also...We are thinking about switching out the bedroom with the office which isn't directly on the street(even though it is much smaller...)

danz- We are having massive construction on my street, it's been like 2 months, and I'm always soo pissed when they wake me up in the morning, but then I think how early THEY must be getting up to do a physical job! And I feel lazy! :) I go to bed every night at 1:30 (unless it's the weekend, then it's more like 3 or 4) and get up around 8 (or way late on the weekend), and it's not working for me. I need to be in bed by 12, because I need a lot of sleep, and I'm always running late. This is a good reminder/motivation to do so! I'm with ya Alba, this is important to me to change! I don't even really drink, or party too hard, it's just the sleeping...yeeeshh...

My sleep schedule is pretty varied because I work weird shifts at work. When I work the early morning shift, I go to sleep by 8:30-9:00 and get up at 3:00 to work out. If I work the afternoon/evening shift, I'm in bed by 2 am and get up at 9:30 or so. I try to get a couple extra hours of sleep on the weekends though!
