Starbucks Cloud Macchiato Calories

You Want It? You Got It! Starbucks's New Cloud Macchiatos Have Fewer Calories Than the Original

You like my coffee? Gee, thanks, just bought it. In collaboration with Ariana Grande, Starbucks has released the new Cloud Macchiato, available in Caramel and Cinnamon flavors — and OMG, my tastebuds are buzzing to try it. But since both drinks are topped with a cloud of fluffy foam, espresso shots, and a drizzle of caramel, it's easy to wonder whether the liquid calories are really worth it. Luckily, in addition to their dreamy new vibe and lighter aesthetic, the Cloud Macchiatos are also slightly lighter on the sugar and calories than a typical macchiato.

According to the coffee company's website, a grande Iced Caramel Cloud Macchiato made with whole milk is 190 calories and 27 grams of sugar, and the grande Iced Cinnamon Cloud Macchiato made with whole milk comes in at exactly 200 calories and 29 grams of sugar. For comparison, a typical grande Iced Caramel Macchiato made with whole milk has 280 calories and 34 grams of sugar, making the Cloud Macchiato a slightly healthier option. And, if you want to swap out whole milk for almond milk, the Iced Caramel Cloud Macchiato would come in at 150 calories and 24 grams of sugar.

The American Heart Association still recommends women limit added sugars to no more than 25 grams per day and men limit added sugars to no more than 36 grams per day, so a Cloud Macchiato is still definitely a treat. But, at almost half the calories, feel free to indulge and sip your iced coffee with your head in the clouds.
