The Sweatiest Cities in America

In some places — not San Francisco, I can tell you that — it's hot outside. When the sun is blaring, a lot of us start dripping in sweat especially when we're working out. MSNBC is reporting that your city may make you extra sweatier than others, which means you should take extra caution to hydrate and drink electrolytes on your outdoor workouts this Summer. Here are the top 15 sweatiest cities in the US:

  1. Phoenix, Ariz.
  2. Las Vegas, Nev.
  3. Tallahassee, Fla.
  4. Tucson, Ariz.
  5. Memphis, Tenn.
  6. Miami, Fla.
  7. Houston, Texas
  8. Tampa, Fla.
  9. Baton Rouge, La.
  10. Fort Myers, Fla.
  11. Huntsville, Ala.
  12. New Orleans, La.
  13. Birmingham, Ala.
  14. Jacksonville, Fla.
  15. West Palm Beach, Fla.

To see the 15 least sweatiest cities just

  1. Rochester, N.Y.
  2. Albany, N.Y.
  3. Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
  4. Colorado Springs, Colo.
  5. Flint, Mich.
  6. Syracuse, N.Y.
  7. San Diego, Calif.
  8. Youngstown, Ohio
  9. Green Bay, Wis.
  10. Burlington, Vt.
  11. Spokane, Wash.
  12. Portland, Maine
  13. Portland, Ore.
  14. Seattle, Wash.
  15. San Francisco, Calif.

Where does your city fall? I'm not shocked that SF is last on the list. I do have to add that I do find it very funny that this list was commissioned by Old Spice; not Degree or Secret but good ol' Old Spice.

OH and the least sweatiest..Rochester can be bad, but I guess it's fine compared to FL. And Youngstown..I disagree with. You sweat because it's hot, and you sweat due to constant fear of being murdered hahaha jk...I know people in both those cities.

They should have just narrowed it down to Florida as a state. And Vegas. I agree with those two.

I'm also in Phoenix, and I agree with the list. Dry heat or not, I'm usually sweating after a 5 second walk to my car. I've also lived in high humidity climates, you may feel wetter because of the humidity but definitely not sweating as much.

SF is killing me - it is too cold for summer!

I live about 30 minutes from Green Bay, WI and it's super nice out right now. Today it's 75 degrees and sunny...just about PERFECT. We actually haven't had a day over 90 degrees yet this year, which is sort of weird. Normally it's a lot hotter than that.

I was happy to see Portland, OR & Seattle on the list. Contrary to popular belief it does NOT rain every day. For the most part, summers in the northwest are non stop sun and 70-80 degree temperatures. Me, I love the rain and clouds so summer is not my favorite season!

My city is No. 4 and man are we sweating right now. We've started our monsoon season, so the temps are hovering around 110 with much higher than normal humidity. Ugh, I'm miserable!

Whee! I live in the least sweatiest city. Though I still manage to sweat a ton when I go running... :-)

Maybe we shold call it SWEAT home Alabama. OMG I think I just laughed myself into an asthma attack...

I can definitely vouche for Birmingham. Three other cities in sweet home Alabama made it in the top 20. It's HUMID down here!

Yeah some of these are a little mixed up. While Arizona's temp is high the humidity that takes over Louisiana is unbearable at times. You have to shower when you walk outside to check your mail. And New Orleans is probably a little warmer than BR. It's surrounded by more water which brings in more humidity. Certain parts of FL are pretty terrible right now too.

I can't believe NY was not in the top 20.

i disagree with phoenix being the sweatiest. I lived there for 6 years and it doesnt compare to the miserableness that is dallas texas. blegh.

I disagree with The Missus. I currently live in Phoenix. When the temp is 114 degrees at 9:00 at night, you know you are going to be sweating...

I live in good ol' number 38 - St. Louis.

Chicago should be higher on the list. I sweat like crazy in this humid weather. However, this week we've been having beautiful weather in the mid 70s. :D

SCORE Rochester is no. 1 for LEAST sweaty!

Houston is pretty sweaty, that's for sure, but I'd rather live in a hot place than a cold one, even if I do sweat a little more.

1 and 2 on the least sweatiest are wrong, among others. I live in the Albany area now and all I hear here is how hot people think it is. They run air conditioning even when it is in the 60's.

I'll take my sunshiny, perpetually pool-side life in "sweaty" Houston any day over the non-sweaty places where I wouldn't be able to keep my tan from March 1 til end November.

I just came back from Las Vegas and the weather was so nice compared to Louisiana. BTW, New Orleans is much hotter than Baton Rouge which is much hotter than Houston, TX.
