i cant stand the machines but i think it stems from there being so many and me being clueless on how to use them (no one wants to wait while i try and figure it out). forget about asking the "trainers" they are more like sales people. i think i will stick to my free weights at home for now.. :(

I like to use both, but I always make sure to use free weights for my upper body. Women do tend to avoid free weights, or tend to use really, really light ones when they do, getting no real strength benefits at all!

I prefer free weights to machines any day. You just don't get the balance and stability and core use with those machines, plus you end up spending half your time waiting. not worth it. Women need to get over their fear of weights and start lifting.
