Even though the Get Fit For 2010 giveaway started way back in January, it's not too late to join the contest and it's definitely not too late to start taking better care of yourself. FitSugar reader krystles may have had a tough time motivating to exercise this Winter, but she's ready to get back on the running boat.
Using the Nike+ system, which I've had since last May, I hope to get back down to running five miles at a 9:05 minute pace. I was there by the middle of December 2010, but the Winter blues set in quickly and hard. The more it snowed and the colder it got, the less I could make it out to the trail for my runs, morning or afternoon. It got to the point that I just stopped running altogether through January and February. It also didn't help that Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's all coincided with this lack of exercise. I don't have fat clothes and skinny clothes, but there are definitely items in my closet that I haven't worn since December.
I've been reading about the Get Fit for 2010 challenge since January, but only decided today to get serious about it in my own life. I've been running pretty regularly since the beginning of March, but my pace is still pretty slow at 10:02 minutes per mile. I'm hoping to keep at it with fewer distractions this time around.
