What Do You Like Best About Your Gym?

We all have something that we love, or at least like, about our gyms. For me it is the dry sauna! It is always my post workout treat. When I swim, the sauna makes me feel like I still managed to sweat and I feel it helps get the chlorine out of system.

So what about you,

location and price.

The gym I go to is overpriced, gross, old and smelly! I can't wait for the remodel!! Too bad it's my only option for working out during lunch!

Well, I totally can't beat the price since I have a full membership for working there.

I don't like my gym but it's the only one in my small city :-( It's always got too much people and it's so small! My favorite part is the cardio machines

i picked the weight room, but th price was also a big incentive. my brother is a trainer for 24 hour fitness, so he hooked me up with $24 per month. it was really helpful last summer because i could travel to visit friends, but still get in my training runs without worrying about trying to figure out a running route in an unfamiliar (& ridiculously hot, in the case of las vegas) city.

I like mine because it's paid for through my school tuition (I'm in college). The facility is basically brand new and we're building another HUGE gym that should be ready next year. It's probably the reason my in-state tuition is a bit hefty, but I love it. My only complaint is that it's so busy and I have to work out during random hours of the day (early mornings or late nights).

I love that free training sessions are included in my membership. I'd never splurge myself, but it was great to have a program from the start, and knowing that my trainer will be checking up on my progress in a few months discourages me from slacking.

I don't have a gym membership.

I said price because it's free becuase I'm a student BUT I would never pay to use the gym here on campus. There isn't too much that I like about it that I couldn't find elsewhere.

Several of my favorite people (friends, coworkers, the boyfriend) are all members of it, so I'm rarely short of a "gym buddy" to get me motivated to go. That really helps!

All of the above, except for "the suana, hot tube, or steam room." I'm very heat-sensitive, and excessive heat makes me ill.

I like that there are many different locations, so I can stop on my way home from work, go in the town where I live on the weekends, or find classes i like in towns around me!

I love the layout. it's 2 floors but everything is very open. Too much crap in a tiny space makes my brain hurt. My old gym was in this tiny old very tall building, so you would go upstairs to see the bikes, then up another flight for the ellipticals, then another for the recumbent bikes (for real)... don't even get me started on the weights and the classrooms. They did have a pool though, and my current gym doesn't.

Definitely the classes! I take Pilates and Hip Hop Aerobics 4 times a week. So much more fun than spending an hour on the treadmill.

The bouldering cave upstairs.

The price is right. It's not a fancy place, but it has everything you need for a total body workout.

I can't decide. I love my trainer... The equipment... The location... the private pilates sessions... the classes... the locker room... It's all fab.

I go to an out of state school (which has a gym I use, but I'm on the XC and tack teams so I don't use it too much) But when I am home at my parents I run outside 95% of the time and only lift weights and occasionally cross train or treadmill run. The gym near my parents is a community center and it's is 200 for the whole year. So the price of that can't be beat,it's still got all the latest equipment, like the arch trainer and some new things that replaced the stair steppers, I don't know what they're called.... it's also less than 5 minutes from my parents house. So: Price and proximity.

I loooooove my gym! It has so much cardio equipment and it's the only gym near me that has an arc trainer! :)

I work out at my university gym, it's really nice and there's alot of equipment. I don't pay a thing because it's included in tutition. It's motivating to go because I'm paying for it anyways. However, it can get just packed so I have to avoid certain times if I don't want to feel overwhelmed by people.

the fact that my boyfriend works it's free.:-) The location is great, too. I do wish it wasn't so busy during peak hours, though.
